ARENA CITY

Written and Illustrated by GMB Chomichuk

Lettered by Lyndon Radchenka

(Escape From New York + The Purge )

x Enter the Dragon

In the three zero eighties (3080s) Crime and Punishment was entertainment and the most entertaining place is Arena City. An experimental corrections society where oligarchs, nations and trillionaires test their inventions and cyber-modifications and wetware on the population in exchange for reduced sentences. Points are Fame and Fame is freedom in Arena City.

The woman known now only as Cobra Fist has entered Arena City and changed the status quo. She has no implants, no modifications, She distributes her points, avoids fame, and does not kill. But Cobra Fist keeps on winning. She’s after the person at the top, the woman who killed her teacher.

MINUS INSTITUTE

Written and Illustrated by GMB Chomichuk

Subjective Reality + Psychic Espionage

Take away what is holding you back. The real is that which can be recreated. The mind is a weapon. The truth is a tool, not a condition. To change the world you must first change yourself. I love the possibilities of psychic phenomenon, the MK Ultra mythology and the surreal existential nature of dream diving.

Minus Institute takes place in an alternate history where all the money that was spent on atomic research in the 1940s was spent on psychic research instead. It’s a world where the cold war is still being fought by cabals of psychics and oligarchs, where truth is a weapon and lies are a medicine. A secret thread through the story seems to be that our first contact with an alien species was subliminal rather than technological. Occupants can dwell within a mind and may be influencing the world at the highest levels. The Minus Institute is a self actualization clinic that recruits for its task force and resists extraterrestrial viral ideologies. Minus Agents investigate possible Occupant invasion scenarios.

CALAMITY JANE

Written and Illustrated by GMB Chomichuk

Calamity Jane isn’t like other people, but that’s what makes her the only one fit for their strange missions. How does she know which mission is right for her? The ones that are waiting when she breaks out of the institute. It must be fate. When Jane is out Calamity ensues. It’s not a hallucination, but it isn’t completely real either.

This collage masterpiece is a comics recreation/remix of the artist’s own work from a shady publisher who never paid and never honored their contract.

“This issue’s art is a whole new ballgame, an impressionistic, almost photo-collage that reminds me favourably of the work of Dave McKean and Bill Sienkiewicz.” - Major Spoilers
